The AMA's Taming the EHR Playbook: A Workgroup and Implementation Coaching Series - Session 1: Stop the Unnecessary Work

In this series, we will be inviting subject matter experts to present on topics in the AMA's Taming the EHR Playbook, encompassing strategies for reducing the volume of unnecessary work in the EHR and distributing work amongst the care team.   The series will include sessions that mirror the playbook's strategies of stopping unnecessary work, sharing necessary work, optimizing proficiency in the EHR, and utilizing EHR performance metrics. In between sessions, health center participants will receive one-on-one implementation coaching.

Session 1 Objectives:

  • Learn how to eliminate unnecessary tasks and duplicative work in the EHR

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and protocols that encourage providers and staff to suggest efficiencies in the EHR use

  • Gain the tools tocreate your own improvement plan for EHR de-implementation
